HAUTAPU DRAINAGE BOARD
At ,1 meeting of the, Hautapu Drainage Board there were present: .Mr W. .1. Andrews [chairman), Messrs I. w. Burtlett, J. Christie, and M. L. Watkins. Tlie Chairman reported that the subcommittee appointed for the purpose had met a deputation of those farmers from Matangi who were desirous of connecting their properties with the Hautapu drain. He also read a report lie had received from the engineer, Mr Fairer, advising a subsidiary drain 4ft wide at bottom with .a-half to one batter. This had been put before the Matangi people, and they had agreed to accept the scheme, the Board to raise a loan of £ 400 for the work. The new drain will drain the properties of Messrs Whcwell, Callison, Lee-Martin, Hogan and K. Beer, and also a portion of Messrs Geo. Washer's and (i. Burns' properties.—lt was decided to call lenders for the work as soup, as the consenl of the Government Department is obtained.
The clerk was directed to call for tenders for (Meaning out various drains. Accounts amounting to £l4 5s were passed for payment.
