THE MICE PLAGUE.
(United Press Association.) MELBOURNE, April 16. The mice plague in the wheat districts is causing severe damage. Many agents anticipate that 90 per cent. of the grain will have to be reconditioned.
DISLIKE EXTINCTION. (United Press Association.) BRISBANE, April 16. A writ lias been issued by three members of tiie Legislative Council against the Attorney-General asking for an injunction restraining the Government from proceeding with the abolition of the referendum on the question of the abolition of the Upper House.
