COMPULSORY LABOUR
INTRODUCED IN LITHUANIA.
MANY DYING FROM STARVATION

The Germans have introduced compulsory labour in Lithuania, the men being employed at trench-digging. A meeting of protest at Yilna resulted in a punishment levy of a million roubles, although many Lithuanians are dying of starvation. The towns are placarded with invitations to volunteer for the Herman arm v.
