SPECIAL ORDER MAKING BY-LAW "V"OTICE is hereby given that at a * Special Meeting of the Hamilton Borough .Council held on Friday, 29th "September, 1916, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be. held on 27th October, 1916, at 7.30 p.m., at the .Council Chambers: — "That the Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order that 'The Fire Escapes By-law 1916' be adopted." The object or purport of the said by-law is, as follows: To provide for the inspection of buildings used for residential purposes, and buildings not used for residential purposes but which are more than one storey in height. To provide for the issue of notice to owners of buildings in cases where the Inspector is not satisfied that sufficient means of escape in case of fire are provided. To provide penalties for the breach of the By-law. A copy of the proposed By-law is deposited at the office of the Council, and is open for inspection during office hours. E. J. DAVEY.
