REVUE COMPANY

VICTOR PRINCE AT HAMILTON.

Tho. Victor Prince vaudeville combination, who have liad such an excellent season in Auckland, dr?w a crowded house at the Hamilton Theatre Royal, last nlfrht, when "Full Steam Ahead" was die title under which the Revue sailed, and in the wake of which the audience followed. The night was one long period <>f irrepressible laughter, and as it is seldom Hamiltoniaus have an opportunity of seeing true vaudeville, the performance wus thoroughly enjoyed. The company is a composition of variety stars, each possessing distinct show characteristics, and each a separate entertainment. The high pressure valve is Victor Prince himself, who releases the steam .6f frivolity whenever he, emerges from the wings, and the audience is carried along on a sea of merriment. Victor Prince was formerly tlie principal comedian in the -J. C. Williamson Comic Opera Company, and is described as the live wire of vaudeville in his laughing successes of "On Duty," and "The Vidian Still Pursued Her." Victor is now in the prime of his funmaking life, and last night he had the audience twisting in their seats with laughter. Charles Zoli, a. very original Italian comedian, caused a regular furore with his "Spagohi, the Toreador," while Lilian Colenzo, as "Emigrant Emma" is a comedy artist of great ability who seeks to move in '"igh society, and lives in "the 'ouse on the 'ill." Miss Ruby Esdaile as Cora Cannon, a beauty specialist, is very petite, and keeps things moving very briskly. There is some gay dancing and quaint dialogue, while the audience is set thinking when the human enigma appears, a person with a feminine face and a masculine figure, who possesses a combination of soprano and baritone voice.

To-night (Friday) will be the last opportunity that theatregoers will have of witnessing the above fine combination of comedians and prettv girls in the Society Review, "The Midnight Club," with its pretty costumes and alluring songs and music. Mr Victor Prince, as the chief fun maker, is ably assisted by Mr Chas. Zli, the Italian cmedian; Miss Colenso, the company's comedienne; Miss Ruby Esdaile, with her sweet voice; Mr York> Gray, baritone; Miss Rose Brennan, Miss Florence Lyle, Miss Annette Lang, Mr Jack Hays and the Beauty Ballet. The dialogue* is overcrowded with witticisms, and keeps an audience convulsed with laughter from beginning t> end. Box plan at PauKs book arcade.
