CHANGED SITUATION IN GREECE

The Roumanian intervention has profoundly changed the situation in (Ireece. German agents, anticipating intervention, renewed their intrigues, forcing the Entente Ministers to demand fresh safguards, with the result that the Greek Government dismissed the majority of the members of the General Staff who showed Germanophile tendencies. The Entente Ministers still consider that further German plotting is possible, and demand the completion of safeguards. Following the Roumanian declaration M. Venezelos wrote to the Prime Minister, M. Zaimis, and M. Dragoumis, who denounced M. Venezelos' recent speech as an insult to King Constantine. A resolution expressing devotion to the King was carried. LONDON, August 31. A report received by the Exchange Telegraph Agency from Athens states that exceptional diplomatic and political movements show a change in the situation, probably a visible volte face in pacificist circles. The King will receive the French Minister to-morrow. ROME, August 30. King Constantine has recalled his brother Prince Andreas, who is a guest at Windsor Castle. AMSTERDAM, August 31. A Bulgarian communique states: "On the right wing we consolidated our new positions in the Fiorina plain, west and north of Lake Ostrovo. We repulsed Servian attacks at Moglena and conquered the heights south of Sborsko. On the left wing we consolidated our new positions east of Struma and otf the coast from Orfano Gulf to Vesta Bay."
