"11 is llii' wives and families of those men who suffer, your Worship," was the comment of Senion-Sergeant Cas-
sells at the Hamilton Court to-day, in preference to a charge of drunkenness , and procuring liquor while subject to a prohibition order, preferred against a young married man named Chas. Henderson, of Hamilton East. The Sergeant added that if defendant was lined his wife would he the sufferer, and the Sergeant suggested that Henderson Should be convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. It was a grossly selfish act for any married man, earning only ;t few shillings a day, to spend money in drink, for his wife and family were bound to suffer as .1 result. Sergeant Cassells said that Henderson, although prohibited, had not kept his order, and there had been several •complaints of his drinking habits.
