BIBLE CONFERENCE.
A Bible Conference for the edification of believers and the deepening of spiritual life w;> s held in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, on Wednesday and Thursday. The chief speakers were the Rev. \V. Perrv, of Hamilton (in the chair), the Rev. H. 15. (•ray, the Rev. W. Salter, and the Rev. A. A. Murray, of Auckland. In view of the Higher Criticism that lias done so much to undermine the faith of many in the authority of God's Woid, it was decided that such a conference should he held annually, and the doctrinal platform for speakers he that which was adopted at the great prophetic conference held in New York recently, as follows: (1) We believe that the Bible is the Word,of Cod and revelation of (>oil, and therefore our only authority. (2) We believe in the Deity of our Lord Josus Christ, that he is very God, by whom and for whom all things were created. (3j We believe in His virgin birth, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and is therefore Cod manifested in the flesh. (4) "We believe in salvation by divftie sacrifice?that the Son of God gave His life a ransom for many, and bore our sins in His own body-on the tree, (o) We- believe in His physical resurrection from the dead, and in His bodily presence at the right hand of God as our Priest and Advocate. (6) We in-the universality and heinousness of sin, and in salvation by grace, " not of works, lest any man should boast"7 that Sonship with God is attained only by regeneration through' the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus Christ. (7) We believe in the Personality and Deity of tho Holy Spirit who came down upon the earth on the day of Pentecost to indwell believers and to bo the administrator in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is also here to reprove the world of sin and and of judgment. (8) We believe in thj» great eomniiqpiuft which our laOcd has given to His Church to evangelise the world, ■aad-.that this evangelisation is the great mission of tho church. (9) <WV
