THE FRANKTON MEETING. TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Being a stranger to this locality, a friend took me to hear -Mr Young on .Monday evening in the hail delivering a political address. J was rather surprised when reading the account in your issue of Tuesday last to see it styled '"stormy." as rovselt and many others who were present thought it a very orderly and well-conducted meeting. Certainly there were a lew, and it is pleasing to note a very few, who endeavored at times to spoil the thread of .Mr Young's speech, hut their efforts were futile.- Doubtless those few consider it their duty to go from meeting to meeting to endeavor to create discord, the element of fair play being quite unknown to them. Another slight error crops up in your report. You say the tally was doubtful. "Well, when the amendment to the vote of confidence had been tardily seconded, and had been put to the meeting, not more than a dozen hands went up—nothing very doubtful about it. Consequently it was quite unnecessary for the chairman to put the original motion, hut to declare it carried. And if 1 may judge by the remarks made after tiie meeting and since, I fancy Mr Young need have no as to the result at the noils. W. OLPHEKT.
