On Tuesday last 19th inst, we held our annual hogget sale at Ohaupo, also our usual stock sale. There was a large attendance and spirited bidding for both sheep and cattle at advanced rates ; 5300 sheep were yarded comprising 4600 hoggets, 400 wethers and 300 ewes with lambs. Preces : Fat wethers £1 3s, forward wethers 17s 3d to 19s 3d, ewe hoggets, shorn, 13s to 15s 3d, woolly 15s 9d to 17s 9d, extra good mixed hoggets, woolly, 16s 6d to 18s, wether hoggets 13s 9d to 15s, mixed well grown hoggets 12s to 15s 9d, others 9s to lis 9d, empty ewes 10s, ewes with iambs 19s 3d, pips, slips, 20s to 295, weaners 13s 6d to 14s. The same day we yard&d 650 head of cattle. 2 year steers £1 10s to £4 15s, 18 months steers £3 17s 6d, yearling steers £2 15s to £3 9s, 2 year empty heifers £4 4s to £4 6s, 18 months heifers £3 2s &d to £3 lis, choice yearling steers £3 16s, choice yearling heifers £3 12s, dairy cows £7 to £B, dairy heifers £6 to £8 !10s, for the best, others £4 5s to £5 10s. We held a sale of pigs at Frankton on Wednesday 20th inst. on account of Mr R. Chilcott. There was only a small attendance but fair prices were realised. Sows with young £3 to £8 ss. purebred Tamworth sow £7 10s, Berkshire boar £2 2s, Tamworth If gS tO 2; ; -S. On Monday September 18th we held a clearing sale on behalf mf Mrs McNicol at Gordonton. There was a very large attendance and spirited bidding for everything, good prices being obtained. English Leicester flock sold as follows.
