- - -*•— THE END PROBABLE. REPRESENTATIONS TO THE GOVERNMENT HAITTAPU DRAINAGE BOARD SOLICITATIONS. CAMBRIDGE MATTERS REVIEWED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Mr H. Lewis, secretary to the Hautapu Drainage Board, is at present here on a visit, and has been interviewing Ministers upon various matters of importance to Cambridge, including a subsidy to the Drainage Board, and the improvement cl "Dismal Swamp." He was accompanied by Mr H. J. Greenelade (member for Waikato). Mr Lewis informs me that be is well pleased with the result of his visit, and feels convinced that a satisfactory subsidy will he provided on the Supplementary Estimates for the Haute?u Drainage Board, and that the Government swamp will soon be put in order.
