Agricultural Statistics.
INFORMATION BY POST
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday Statistics regarding the agricultural ami pastoral industries, which 'hare not 'been collected for three years, will he compiled this year. The member for Titnaru (Mr Oraigie has persistently \urged upon the Government, the desirability and the importance of preparing this information. He has now been informed by the? Minister for Agriculture that instructions will be given to officers of the Department immediately to prepare the necessary schedules-. The census will he taken through the agency of the post, the schedules, being delivered to farmers, sheep-farmers, and settlersi throughout the Dominion by post and returned 'by them to the Department. Provision will be made in the schedules for the . statement of the acreage sown in cereals, grass, roots , etc. They will 'be issued, and are to he returneod next month. The use oft the post will effect 'a sating of over £6OO.
