TO CLOSE OR NOT TO CLOSE

WELLINGTON, Wednesday
In reply to Mr VVilford, it was stated in the H o use of Representatives today by the Hon. J. A. Millar (Minister for Labour) that instructions had been issuod that a whole holiday would be given in the railway workshops on Dominion Day. The Labour Department had received a legal opinion that shops ciosine cm Dominion Day would not require to close on the statutory half-holiday, and this opinion would be acted upon.
