THE PATEA SEAT

HAWERA, This day
Mr P. O'Dea, a candidate for the Patea seat, addressed the electors last night. He declared himself a Government supporter. He upheld the present education scheme, favored a bare majority for no-license, opposed granting the freehold to Crown tenants and supported the abolition of the Upper House, or making it elective. 'He received a vote of confidence.
Replying ito a statement that a Minister would run {or Patea the candidate said that it would not affect himself as he would go to the poll.
