GENERAL GODLEY'S ADDRESS
(Per Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, Tuesday night. General Godley, in an address on defence matters bo-day, said that drill would be held in the evening, and parade would mean that a man would have to give up half a dozen holidays in the year. The only thing that would present any difficulty would be the week's camp, and that would be arranged at a convenient time, and that was where the employers could come in with help. The General said that there was an extraordinary amount of misunderstanding over this matter, but he contended that training was a sine quo noil. Unless comrades were trained together compulsory training would be a farce.
