THE FALL OF TROY

Referring to the great play ' 'Tha Fa!l of Troy" to 'be produced at tbe Hamilton Town Hall on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday next by the Empire Picture Company, the N.Z. Herald says : —What is certainly a triumph of cinematographic art is the lilm, "The Fall of Troy." This unique picture opens with Menelaus, the Greek king, taking farewell of his wiie Helen in a gorgeous garden, elaborated with splashing fountains and statuary. Paris comes as ambassador from Priam, and mutual admiration soon warms to love, an love to flight. The news of Helen's perfidy is conveyed to Menelaus, who hastens home to find the news only too true-. He then, declares war upon the Trojans, and a magnificent scene shows the general assault upon the stonje walls of the ancient city of Troy. The Greeks are repulsed, and retire to their ships, leaving behind tliem a great model of a horse 1 to indicate that they are leaving for home. The Trojans in triumph take the strange trophy into Troy, breaking down a portion of a gateway to get it through. In the night the horse disgorges half a dozen Greeks, who fire the city, and in the confusion the Greek army suddenly returns and sacks the burning city, Paris being killed in smgLe combat by Menelaus.
