Counties' Conference.

TOO unwieldly.

HAMPERED BY NUMBERS

The Raglan County chairman considers that the Counties Conference as at present constituted does not do the amount of good work it should, as the South Island members have little in common with the North Island, and there is, therefore., a tendency, owing to the absence of knowledge of local conditions, tjo pass hurriedly over many important matters appertaining to both islands. He is disappointed with the work of the Conference, which is unwieldy, and he feels sure that smaller conferences of adjoining local bodies with a similarity. of local conditions -would do better work.
