A HAWERA FATALITY.
DEATH OF A RAILWAY
PORTER
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWERA, Jan. 8. Patrick McCarty, a porter at the Hawera Railway Station, aged 27, was killed this morning l by the engine of the mail train during shunting operations. 1 errible injuries were inflicted, the head being |reduced to pulp and the body disembowelled. He leaves a wife and two younir children.
