RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD
The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday last. There were present: Messrs P. Potts (Ch»irman), T. Bond, R. Kay, VV. Long and the Board't, Supervisor, Mr VV. Mandeno. it was decided to invite tenders for tht carting of metal to be put on roads in var'ous portions of the district, tenders to be ope led at the nest melting of tht Board.
The Chairman was authorised to have some 50 yards of metal put on Lake Eoad Hill.
The offer of Messrs Cavanagh and Ellis to do the work of spreading and blinding free of charge was accepted with thanki. The master of hav og the crown taken off Log Bridge Hill was left in the hands ot the Supervisor.
Mr Macdero reported his having employed a second surfaceman, who bad been at work for the past fortnightApproved. Mr M. Turney made application for and was granted six drain pipes for the road near the Ngaroto Domain .Reserve. The Chairman said that some £2O had accrued as thirds on property near Round Lake Eoad. The settlers were willing to contribute towards having the road completed through the swamp. The Chairman thought it a nutter in which the Board mitfht contribute something.
It was decided to contribute £lO
The Supervisor reported that Henderson's bridge wanted attention; one of the piles had deoayed. The matter was left to be dealt with at the next meet'ng. Mr A. Swarijrick wrote with reference to the sale of c'o»9d roids to the adjoining owners.
The Chairman was authorised to dea with the matter with Mr Swarbrick.
