NGARUAWAHIA SCHOOL.

- THE ANNUAL CONCERT. The annuil school concert, with presentation of good attendance certificates and prizes, took place on Friday evening, Mr B\ Warren acting as Chairman. The oomnod.ous Town Hill was crowded with an appreciative audience, and the children acquitted themselves in a manner which reflected f/edit on Miss P. J. Garrett, and the other members of the teaohing staff. Vlr George Warren, of Hamilton, rendered several humorous items, 'which contributed largely to the success of the entermen t.

The items on the first part of the pro gramme were:—lnstrumental trio, Miss 'oulthard, Misses Ada and Violet Pitzpatriok, with Mr T. W. Evan?, accompanist; song, "Close Your Dreamy Kye3," junior pupils; recitation, " Alone on the Raft," Lucy Graves; duet, " Boy and Girl," Dorothy Booth and Vera Fausett; song, " The ory of the little ones," Miss G Butcher ; recitation, humorous, Mr G. Warren (encored); song, "Alabama Coon," junior pupils; song and ohorus, "The Birdie's Hail," infant children ; presentation of good attendance certificate j and prizes by Mr W. Paterson, Chairman of School Commit'eo. The he dteacher, Mr P. Warren, congratulated the parents on tne number of children who were eligible fir good atti n lance certificates during the ending September 30th. Good attendance certificates accompanied with book prizes were th npresanted to M. Lynch, Jean Kay, E. Aiokin. M. O'Conn r, M. Booth, W. Rasmussen, R'ggie Aioltin (lstclaes); Laura Lynoh, W. The second half of the programme consisted of:—lnstrumental trio, Misses Coulthard, Fitzpatriok and Mr Evan*; followed by a play for little boys entitled. "Doctor Daymond's Grammar School Boys."

At intervals, songs including "Home Sweet Home" were t ffioiently rendered by the pupils.
