ROWING NOTES.

[ By Outriouer.] With the formal opening of the Hamilton Rowing CluVi on Saturday next a promising afternoon's sport id anticipated. The first event to come up for decision is Iliwdeu'a Cup, to bi rowed tor between crews from the various boarding housrs. Three crews have entered tor tnia competition, namely, Murnyfield, Abbjitsford and Almadale. The first heat ooinea up tor decision at 5.30 p.m. this evening between Alurrayfiuli and Almadale, the winning crow meeting Abbotsford at 2 p m to-morrow, forming tie first event of the afternoon's programme. Tne following represent their respective houses: Murryficld.—S. V. Tyerman (stroke), P. C. B ni (3), F. L. Bockott [t), E. P. Stuart (bow). Abbotsford.—o. Pollard (stroke), A. N. Biker (3), S. A. Kmpson (2), W. C. Coote (bow). Aiuiadale.—-0. V. Bond (stroke), B. Bailey (3). VV. Broadfoot (2), K. Bridgman (bow) During the afternoon a special feature will be introduced, a motor launch raoe. We understand the entries are large and the race shou d create a great deal of interest, being the first of the kind yet held in the di-triot. Bisides the above events trial fours will be rowed between the various members of the club. Afternoon tea will be -mpplied by the ladies, and the public are cordially iuvitsd. first Heat Boarding House Cup will be rowed on the river at 5.30 this evening between Aiuiadale and Murraytield.
