THE RUSSIAN SITUATION.
THE TREASURY ROBBERIES. MURDER OK A BRITISH ' SUBJECT. A DEMAND FOR PROTECTION ST. PETERSBURG, Oct. 31. Eight of those concerned in the Treasury carriage robbery at St. Petersburg were court-mart ialled and executed. Carneieff. a workman at Coates' thread mill at St. Petersburg, murdered Sheridan, the Scottish foreman. The murderer was not arrested.
The crime was intended to strike terror, owing to arrests of revolutionary employees in the mill. Sheridan leaves a widow and five children. The J)ritish Ambassador has demanded the active safeguarding ot the lives of British eniplovees.
