CHILDREN'S FANCY DRESS BALL.

IN AID OF HOSPITAL. The children's plain and fancy dreas ball arranged by Mrs G. P. Furby, in aid of the fund for famishing the children's convalescent ward and providing bed jackets at the Waikato Hospital, was a great sue uwssin every presented a gay and brilliant soe&%~-~ last evening batween the houra of eight and ten, when the little ones held undisputed possession of the floor. The grand march was led off by Miss Oushla Hunter and Mr W. A. Graham. The stage had been simply but effectively decorated in the . ambu'auce colours, rod and white, while the supper room was prettily set up with paper festoons of international flags, prominent amongst them being the Union Jack, Stars and Stripes and the lining Sun ■if Japan. Blakley acted as secretary for Mrs Furby, and Messrs C. L. MacDi >rmid and J. Noble as M.C.'s. There must have been fully 200 children present either in plain or fancy dress, be- * sides 120 adults, exclusive of quite 100 spectators who oocupied the gallery.
