HAMILTON ROWING CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING
About 40 members attended the annual meeting of the Hamilton Rowing Ciub, hell in Mr McKee's auction mart, last evening. Mr M. G. Firrer, president of the Club, occupied the chair. The report submitted by the Treasurer (Mr C. Horsnell) stated that on the like shed the receipts, including subscriptions £4B, totalled .£52 10s ltd; expenditure £SO 19s 7d, leaving a credit balano of gigs .£2O, pleasure boats £ls, totalled £B4 Is ; liabilities amounting to £5 oi 81. On the river shed there was a credit balance of 4s 9i, the raceipti, inclulmg doni'i ms; £69 13s expenditure, including £lO 7s 6d for gig, £OO 8s 3d; assets were vaiued at £7O, liabiliti3s at £3 1b 4d.
The commtttes's reparc ongratulated ,-the Club on a most successful season and the bright prospects before it. Regret wa3 expressed at the retirement of the captain, Mr N. C. Matthew, and the secretary, Mr Horsnell, also of Mr McKee from the committee; it recommended that these gentlemen be elected life members. The report and balance sheets were adopted. Officers were elected as follows : —Presi- *• dent, Rev. N. C. W. fiadcliffe; vioe-presi-dents, Messrs A. Swarbrick, Greenslade M.U.R., H. Holloway and Di. B.ewis; Captain, Mr M. G Farrer; vice-captain, Mr S. Tyerman; hon. secretary and treasurer.Mr G. L. Mahon; committee, Messrs Bookett, C. Speight, A. Elliott, H. T. Gillies, H. Edgecumbe, Snell, F. C. Bond. Twenty three gentlemen were elected new members. * The question of conditions for the contest for the cup presented by Mr Bowden for boarding-house crews was introduced by Mr Finlay, but no aot'on was taken.
