THE PREFERENCE BILL.
ASSISTANCE TO BRITISH SHIPPING. MELBOURNE, September 26. The House of Representatives by 17 to 15 adopted Mr Fraser's amendment to the Preference Bill, providing that British goods should only be given preference to if carried ia British vessels manned by white seamen.
