PARLIAMENTARY JUNKETING.
* (By Telegraph - Special to the Waikato Times). WELLINGTON, This Day. A monument to Captain Cook has been erected near the spot at Gisborne wheie he landed 137 years ago. The anniversary of that event falls on Monday, October Btb, when the monument will be unveiled with considerable eclat. A pirty of Parliamentarians personally conducted by the member for the district (the Hon J. Carrol) will leave Wellington on Saturday, the 6th, to attend the celebrations, and amongst those who have signified their intention of accompanying "the party are Messrs Kidd, (Leenslade, Poland, Poole, Lawry and a number of South Inland members.
