Urmund's motion for a further return of native lands. and adjourned at 5 p.m. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House met at 2.30 p.tn. SECOND READINGS. Ihe Church Property Trust Amendment Bill and tue .Roman Cataulic Bishop of Auckland Empowering Bill were read a second time. LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Leave of absence was granted to Mr T. Mackanzie, for four days, on urgent public business. FIRST READINGS. The Otago Presbyterian Church Board Property Consolidation, Oualow Borough Drainage and the Petone Borough Streets Bills were read a first time. SUI'I'EE ADJOURNMENT. The supper adjournment (9.3'J p.m.) was abolished, on ihe motion ot tne Premier, for the rest of the session. PROGRESS OP IJILLS. The Fire Brigades. Payment of Jurors, Habitual Criminals and the Horowhenua Biook Bills were read a third time. The Maori Land Claims Adjustment Bill passed through committee with the amendments of the Native Aiiairs Committee. the Government Advances to Settlers Consolidation and Amendment Bill was read a second time. Tin second rending of the Health .Resorts Bill was moved by the Premier, and the House adj .urned for dinner at 5.30 p.m. At the evening sittting the Tourist liesorts, Town Di tricts, Training Ships and Coal Mines Act Amendment Bills were read a second time.
