MELBOURNE, July 23. The Rev. Mr VVorrall, in a sermon at Beudigo, denounced Mr Gillott, the Chief Secretary, in connection with the recent gambling tragedies. He impeached him with the blood flowing from the wounds of gamblers, and said it was nonsense for him to pretend that he was powerless to stop a scourge which was creating a very Gethsemane of woe and trouble. Mr VVorrall, in an interview, states that the tragedy at Flemington would never have occurred if the authorities had exercised the power the law gave them.
