KIHIKIHI TOWN BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Kihikihi Town Board was held on Friday last. Use of Hall. —An application from Lieut. Holden, of the Kikikihi Troop, for the use of the Hall for drilling purposes was granted on the usual conditions. Dog Tax.—The Board decided to strike a dog tax of 3s 6d for ail dogs for the current year. Repairs to Strkets.—Some small repairs were ordered to be made on Moulestreet, also on Grey-street and Whitmorestreet. Purchase of House.—lt was decided to invite tenders for the purchase of the house, at present occupied by Mr R. MacDonnell, for removal. Cleaning Hall.—Mr Remnant's tender for cleaning the Hall and filling and eleanieg lamps was accepted. Overdue Rates. The Clerk was instructed to request Mr Swarbrick to collect some overdue rates. Accounts.—Accounts amounting to some £8 were ordered to be paid. Special Meeting.—A special meeting was then held to appoint the weekly half holiday under "The Shops and Offices Act," when it was decided to make it Wednesday in each week, that being the day in most of the other townships in the Waikato.
