WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The statutory meeting of the Waipa County Couucil was held at the Chambers Ohaupo, on Wednesday. There were present : Crs, John Fisher, J. Ryburn, Ed Allen, S. Steele, F. J. McKinder, F. J Vickers, P. O'Connor, and H. J. Bell. ' ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN. The Clerk having made his statement as returning officer, Cr. S. Steele proposed and Cr. • 0 Connor seconded that Cr Fisher be re-elected chairman for the enl suing year. The motion was carried with applause. Cr. I isher, on taking the chair thanked members for their kind expression of approval and welcomed the new members to the Council table. On his motion a hearty vote of thanks to Messrs Finch and Scott, the retiring councillors, was uuanimously passed. COUNCILS OFFICBRB. Messrs C. Bowden, clerk, and W H Man deno supervisor of works, were re-elected to their respective appointments, Coun. cdlors expressing the highest approval of the manner in which their arduous duties were psrformed. REPAIRS TO CAMRRIDQE BRIDGE. The tenders of Mr Jas. Larkin for retmir* hJH to the Cambridge Traffic Bridge at ilfih 17s was accepted. Messrs Newson and loulson and Mr W. E. Hutchison each forwarded tenders at £ 178. BY-LAWS. The Chairman proposed that a specia meeting of the Council be held on 9th to consider the bye-laws for regulating traction engine and other traffic. Cr McKinder seconded the motion which was carried.
