I trust you will lie able to induce your friends to make a trial ship-' nient, I am advised that there is every indication of the early lamb market in London being good and having arranged to load a steamer about the l 20th December going direct, a splendid opportunity is offered to settlers to reap the benefir, Lambs should be cut and tailed and weigh from 321b to 40'b, dressed, Crossbred Downs preferred."—Mr .Reynolds said it was evident that 2d per lb would cover all expenses, including freezing, shipping, and commission ; and as pork was now bringing sid in London there would be a clear profit of per lb after the poik had been sent to Auckland.—The letter was acknowledged with thanks.-The secretary of the Tauranga Farmers' Club also wrote as follows:—" At a meeting of the Tauranga Farmers' Club held on the 13th October, a discussion took place with regard to raising pigs for Messrs Reynolds and Co. It was considered to be a valuable auxiliary to the dairying industry, but, in order to induce Messrs Reynolds and Co. to start, it will require the Wai-. kato to co-operate with the Bay of Plenty, to raise the required number. Would your club kindly let us know whether it is intended, in the Waikato, to go into the matter of raising pigs. ,; — With regard to this Mr R. Reynolds said the Tauranga Club had evidently misui derstood Messrs Reynolds and Co, as it had caught the wrong end of the story, The secretary was therefore instructed to write explaining the exact position of .affairs concerning the exportation of pork. Entomological Cabinets.—Mr F. J. Brooks, chairman, Cambridge School Committee, wrote enclosing a letter from the Auckland Fruitgrowers' Union which sta'ted that the Union,.-when ordering insect cabinets as suggested by Captain Brown, would be veryuglad to order at the same time for any society or committee a cabinet of this kind, the cost of which woiild be £l.—On the motion ofMr Forrest, sejonded-'by Mr' Reynolds it was decided that the club procure one of the cabinets, the cost of it to be taken fro"n the general funds. That'this Club approach the Government with a view to get/established an exhibition of New. Zealand general products in-some central > and prominent situation in ' London, -\ where all information in connection therewith may be obtained:' 1 In doing 80 he said he was sorry there was not a full meeting, as the question nud'or consideration was an important one as far as bringing forward the products of New Zealand was concerned, and he thought the large companies should assist the' Government m furthering the interests i.f the scheme, which, if carried out, should be upder the management of the AgentGeneral.—The motion was seconded by Mr Seddon, and after fmther consideration it was decided that the Waikato delegates bring the matter before the meeting of delegates in Auckland on Monday next, when the conference will decide what steps shall he taken to obtain the co-operation of other clubs. and societies, so that the matter may be brought more forcibly before the' Government. The instrument consisted of a sharp plate fitted on to the toe of a boot, so that it can be taken oil and put on as required-by 'he- wear::-.--

The novelty of the eradicator at first caused much amusement, but was voted by all to be a most useful article, as anyone using it could, when walking round a farm, effectually kick up any noxious weed that he might come acrons.
