TE AWAMUTU.
The Creamery.-—The quantity of milk supplied at the Te Awamutu Factory for the month of October was 17,045 gallons, lwing about 1,400 gallons more than the quantity supplied during October, 1898. There is very general dissatisfaction among the suppliers with regard to? the testing. Some of the milk is returned as low as 2.8, or 6 per cent, of cream. This, in view-of the dry, season and the unusual quantity of white clover in the pastures, seems quite : unaccountable, Oue man, who sends about 42 gallons daily, was able to make 171b of butter from his Sunday's milk ; yet he gets. 3 4, or only 9 per, cent, of cream. Another who was sending the same quantity of milk for three successive weeks, from the same cows and the same pastures, got 3.2, 3.8, and 3.2. Such discrepancies are not easy to reconcile. . There is some talk'of sending samples to be tested by Mr Pond, but what is wanted is some united action by the whole of the Waikato creameries, so that some really satisfactory system might be adopted. It is as much to the interest of Reynolds aud Co. as it is to that of the suppliers, that there should be a general feeling* of confidence, satisfaction and goodwill.
