RAILWAY COLLISION.

A DISASTROUS ACCIDENT. ENGINES ANIToARRIAGES TELESCOPED, (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT). , Sydney, October 31. A disastrous collision occurred this morning, just outside the Redfern Railway Station, when the in coming Paranutta train crowded with business people, from surburban stations, met the outgoing Gculbourne express on the same set of rails with the re* suit that the engines and crrriages were telescoped. The accident has caused intense excitement, and it is impossible to as* certain definitely whether anyone was killed, but it is believed that Orr, a fireman of one of the trains is dead. Among the injured are the follow* ing:-»Mr and Mrs Hart, Messrs Pyman, Pellick, Osborne, Johnson, Caison, Bennett, (driver), Pearce,iand Glasson. Rev. Dean McCarthy, Mrs. Davis, and Miss Harper, are each suffering from scalds. It is not known how the two trains came to be switched on to the same line, Strathpield, October 31. So far as is known, thirty were injured in the railway collision. Twelve were taken to the hospital, and the others to their own homes. Dean Mo* Carthy is in a serious condition, but no fatalities are as yetrecorded.
