case will be taken to Court. ; Miners' Rights.-A list of the minors ( rights issued during 1892-3 to March | 31st was forwarded by the Mines Depattment, showing that 2G new rights had been taken out durine the 12 months. Slmjohtbu • MOUSES. - A license • was granted to Mr G, W. Ormsby to slauehter cattle, sheep, etc, at or near Te Hanga, the manager of the Thames Valley Land Company (Mr M. Harrison) guaranteeing the expenses of the Bt\me. Finance.—Last year's bnlance*slwefc was laid on the tablo, showing tho receipts te ho £2GS9, and the expenditure £2482, leaving a balance of £207. Tho Te Aroha Hiding had a debit balance of £22, Tatatero a credit of £BS, tho To Aroha loan account (special) a debit of £B3, and the Patatoro loan account (special) a credit of £7B. Ratk Riilt.-A large number of alterations of names on the rata roll wero ordered to bo made on tbo motion of the Chairman, seconded by Or. Hnrroll. Tuamway Horses.—Mr Taylor, loasea of tlio tramway at To Aroha, wrote complaining that Cr. Duncan McNicnl had valued the tram horses too highly, He said that Lofty and the groy mare wore much too highly priced, and that Cr. McJucol himself would n.it at any timo give the prjees for the horses which he had put on them.—The letter was received, Oountt Hxgineer.—For the position of county engineer, the following applications were received Messrs R. friends. „ ~ , Office Hours.—'The County Council I Chambers having bean completed at t Mnrr'msville it was resolvpd that the office ' hours be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesday; and from 10 a,m, tn 3 p.m., nn 1 Thursday, in each week ; from 9 a.m. to 10 ' ft.ni., on the Tuesday before the first Wed- ] nesday in each month.—The clork is to bo I in attendance at these hours. _ ■ A Sakk.-Mi' G. W. Save wrote offering 1 to sell a safe tn the Council, which measured outside, 48 inches x 28 inches x 23 inches; inside, 42 inches x 22 inchesx 18 inches; fortho sum of £3o.—The sum was considered too high, and it was left to the chairman to arrange for the purchase of a safe.-The Council have a safe in the office at Cambridge, but as there is a doubt as tn whom it belongs, they think it better, in case anyone objects to shifting tho same, to authorise tho chairman to purchase either the present county safe, or the one offered by Mr Saro. i Coming Works,-Tha chairman (Councillor Chepmell), Crs. Mark Harrison and Horrell were appointed a committee to meet on tho Ist day of June, prox., at 10.30 :uii„ to mako out an estimate for the expenditure which will be required during the coming year over tho county roads, such estimate.to be submitted to the Council at its next meotinp. , .. Taotaoroa Roads.-An application was received from tliß Taotaoroa Road Board asking the Council t» repair the CambridgeTauranga road through the district —The engineer was instructed to report on the amount of repairs or improvements considered necessary, The report to be in at next meeting. Okoroire Road.—The engineer was inducted to get what work he deemed necessary, done on this road, to the Sanatorium from the railway line at once. Road Maintenance Contracts.-Mr T. G. Sandes reported that Ormsbys contract on the Oambridge-Tauranga road, and Barker's contract on the Okorolre-Tapipa road had expired on the Ist of May last. — It was resolved that Ormsby be asked to again take np the contract for keeping the road clear of timber (i.e., the Kaimai track), and that he be otfored £2O per annum so to do, With riprd to the Sanatorium road it was resolved that tho engineer report as to what was required to be done to put it in good order. Okoroirg-Hanga ROAn. - Councillor Harrison moved that tenders be called for tho formation of this road, on behalf of the Thames Valley Land Company, he was willing to pay one-third of the cost of making the road. He also guaranteed that Mr L, D. Nathan would pay onethird of the cost, the Council to pay the balance.—lt was agreed to do tho work the . cost not to exceed £l5O which was Mr T. G. Sandes 1 estimate of the value of tho name. The plans of tho now road are to be sent to the Native Lands Court for approval prior to making the road. Northcroft'9 Road.—Mr T. G, Sandes reportod that he had surveyed the road made by Mr Rich through Northcrofts propfirty, Ho found that nb'iut flight fvciss wero taken by the new road and that about niuo acres of useless road might be closed and given to the proprietor.—lt was resolved that Mr Nortlicroft be written to asking him to nominate an arbitrator to value the land, taken severance, etc., in order to arrive at a decision ag to the valne of damage done to the property; Mr J, McNicol, who had been asked to value, having died since the question was raised. Road Woiiks.-A numbor of small road works wore authorised to be carried out all in the Te Aroha and Waitoa ridings. Amongst these is included the replacing ol a set of pipes with a wood culvert on the main Thames-Waikato road near Larney s farm which pipes had been damaged owing to not bring looked after, Accounts.—The following accounts wero passed for payment: - Petty cash, £5; T.
