THE CONDEMNED MAN SCOTT.
(by telegraph.—own ooßnKsrosnm), Auckland, Last Night. _ Thk condomned man, Alexander Scott, is still reported to maintain tli3 samo demeanour in gaol. Last evoning Mr White, J.P., one of the visiting justices appointed by the Governor tn pay regular visits to Mount Eden Gnol, bad an interview with Scott in prison, The condemned man has the option of sending fjr whichover visitinp justice he prefers, and yesterday afternoon Mr Reston, the gaoler, complied with his request to see Mr White, and that Rente-man-remained with Scott for a couple of hours, from seven till about nine o'clock in the evening, He had a long conversation with the prisoner, but nothing of much im portance transpired, He had some little requests to make, but the conversation did not result in anything important, Mr White found Scott well, hearty, and cheerful, and no complaints to make. He was satisfied with his treatment iu prison, and now appeared tn fully realise the situation, but maintains an unruffled demeanour, One of the officials who has visited Scott during his sojourn in gaol says Scott is the coolest man he ever saw under such circumstances,
