R.Vl'lS. — In accordance with notice jjiviin, the following rates were struck :—A geneial Mte of jd in the £ over the whole riding; mid separate rates of J,d in the £ in the Mangapiko outlying district; .pd in the .£ in the Alexandra outlying district, and id in thfi.fi in the Hamilton outlying district. Allocations.—The various riding accounts, with the exception of Hamilton, being considerably overdrawn, the following fresh allocations were made :—New castle, £1-48 : Tuhikaramea, £42 ; Hamilton, €128; Pukskiu-a, £280 ; Mangapiko, £100; Rangiaohia, £340. Valuations.—ln reply to Cr. Shepherd the Clerk stated that the valuation of the Newcastle district was £03,033, but this included about t'DSOC Crown and native lands, which wero i X'suipt from taxation. Last year the amount collected was £105 0s Oip-1, and this year was £170 17s Sid, the actual ratable v.due being increased by fiver £1-100. Howik'm Bkidok. — Cr. Anderson suggested that new caps and one stringer bn put in at this bridge, which would make it safe for some years to come.—The engineer was instructed to carry out this work. Havelock's Lk.u , Bkidok.—The engineer was instructed to inspect the approaches of this bridge and report at next meeting. Conr.ix Moth Bill.—Cr. Teasdale, urged that representation be made from the Council to the Premier and to the member for the district asking them to endeavour to take steps not to have the Codlin Moth Act brought into operation. A resolution to this effect was propped by Cr. Tuasdale and seconded by Cr. Kusabs,—The Chairman moved, as an amendment, that the Council take no action in this matter.— Seconded by Cr. Shepherd.—On the amendment being put it was lost, and the original motion carried. KtHiKiHi.— Cγ. Eliusly moved that the county road in Kihikihi, from Mr Kiggs' to the school, be repaired and formed.— Seconded by Cr.
