In view of the veiy keen demand for land which exists at present in this part of the colony, the following rerort of a recent land sale, which took place in the Wanganm district, rends strangely :—" The Mock comprised 12,000 acres of splendid land, and was offered in 22 allotments, ranging from 221 to 4090 acres ; only one block was of the last-named dimension, the majority of the remaining 21 seeti >ns covering ;ioo or !o0 acres. Specially good terms were offpred, and though the block, which is situated up the river, is reported to bo really fust class land, only one selector was forthcoming. That gentleman was. curiously enoufih, the surveyor of the land, and he quickly bought in the tir-t parcel sub init'i'd : inif he was the first, !r-.-t. and only buyer.''
