WEDNESDAY. Capt. Russell moved the adjournment of the House to enable him to refer to the 1'olhil! Oully rifle range pmvhase, and tin whole of the afternoon sitting was taken up in a di-cussiou on this question. The amendments made by the Leei*lative Council in Employers Liability Act Amendment Bill wore agreed to. The Land Bill was further considered in committee. O'ause 134, residence to lie compulsory. Mr Scobie McKenaie moved that cmditiona of residence should not apply to persons who while retaining their bona fides took np bush or swamp land and marie double improvements upon it, but who did not actually reside upon the land. This was opposed by the Minister of Land*, and after two hours debate rejecied by 38 to IS. The clause as amended the previous evening was added tD the Bill by 39 to IU.
