FOOTBALL.
CANTERBURY V. AUCKLAND. (BV TBLEGRArn.—own correposndent). Auckland, Last Night. The football match, Canterbury versus Auckland, took place to-day. The weather was perfect, Auckland, however, was completely out, matched from the commencement, Canterbury winning by twenty-four points to nil. In the first spell Canterbury scored seven and towards the end of the game the Auckland team became completely demoralised by their opponents' wonderful play. Canterbury scored rapidly till a total of twenty-four was run up when time was called.
Mr C. G. Kuox, Hon. Sec. of the Waikato Rugby Union, requests us to state that the adjourned meeting of the Union will be held in The Waikato Times Buildings, Hamilton, on Saturday evening, September 10th, at 7.30 p.m. sharp, when amongst other business the protests Patetangi against Whatawhnta, and Huntly agaiust Hamilton will be dealt with.
By an oversight in our report in Tuesday a issue, of the Huntly v. Hamiltou football match, played on Saturday last, we omitted to say where it was played. It took place at Ngaruawahia, in a paddock near fche saleyards.
