WAIKATO HUNT CLUB.

Mr H. Buli.ock-Webster's hounds met .it the Cross Roads, Ngarofco, yesterday. There was not a very large muster of horsemen present, owing no doubt to the bad state of the weather. Among those present we noticed the Master (Mr H. BullockWebster) on Blue Peter, Messrs W. M. ])ougla3 on Pawn, R. Rathborne on Master, T. W. Weatherill on a grey, C. J. Storey on a brown, Lynch on a chestnut, W. Windsor on Mistake J. Corboy on a bay, C. Weal on Onslow, H. Weal on Nithmount, J. Storey on an Ingomar, W. Kay on a Ariel, and others. The hounds threw off in a paddock belonging to Mr Potts, where, shortly after the start, a rabbit was killed on the edge of a swamp. Several other paddocks were then tried, but tho dogs were unable to find a hare. A move was then made across the road into Mrs McCabe's paddocks, where a hare was soon found, but after a short run back to the main road puss managed to elude her pursuers, by going to cover in some thick qrnrse. Several other paddocks were next tried, but without result. A drag was then la ; d with the rabbit which had been previously caught, by Messrs T. W. Weatherill and H. Weal, in the direction of Ohaupo, which proved very interesting, being new country to most of those present. The majority were able to follow nearly the whole way. On arrival at Ohaupo refreshments were handed round, and a call for three cheers for the Master, was heartily responded to, anl the meet broke up. The hounds are announced to meet at Pickering's corner, Hantapu, ou Saturday, when, if favoured with better weather than was the case yesterday, there will no doubt be a large attendance.
