Tiik usual monthly meeting of the Waikato County Council was held in the Council Chandlers at 2 p.m. yesterday. Present: Crs. Primrose (chairman), Kirugli, Seddon, Johnson and Smith. Or.'.HKY.— The Clerk to the Mercer Highway ISoard wrote, asking tho Council to vest the quarry in lot OS, near Mi-rccr, in the Highway IJoiird, and stating that the Board would allow the Council to use tho epiarry at any time they needed it. The Clerk was instructed to reply that Iho Conned would not give up the pit, but would allow the Board to use it at any time. Si.aucirraus'c, liicexsks.—A slaughterhouse license was granted to Messrs Boolh and lioboi ts at the rate of license foe of £1. and 3d per head for large and head for small cattle. The Clerk was instructed to issue a license lo J. Arnold on the same terms. Lkoai.; Exi'KXSKs.—The clerk was instructed to again make application to the Raglan County Council for £ti 12s, portion of legal expenses for tho action against tho Auckland Hospital Hoard. Hay, of Hamilton, drove over the Narrows bridge at other than a walking pace, as provided in County by-laws. Tho Clerk was instructed to take legal proceedings against Mr Hay. Mopkl Farm.- —Crs. Steele, Seddon and Primrose wero appointed a committee to inspect the Peacii Grove Kesorve Endowment, and report as to the best way to deal with it at tha next meeting of the council. Wouks.—lt w,is resolved to vote £50 finforming tlm road from Huntly to metalled road near Tanpiri ; £25 for repairs on tho road from Churchill to Ranjjiriri Station, £50 on Wairenga road, the work consisting of grading Loch's hill, two small culverts, refascining and sodding about 15 chains near Wallis', forming road and making cutting near Kiddy's, forming ami cutting road near mill creek ; £■!"> on Proctor's road near Matahuru, and £50 for surface works on Iho Great South Road from Me.renure. lo schoolhousn, and repairs on the Wliiingi.marino Station.
