At nine o'clock llie M.C. niai'shidled the rinkers for the Grand Maich which was very well executed. "During the, march, Mr G. Edgeeumhe «dio had been appointed judge, made a close inspection of tho various dresses and rinkinz, and shortly after the following nrizss were awarded :—For the most striking lady's coslume, Miss. Nuw.:ll (R"d, White and Blue), for tlio most graceful lady skater, Miss E. IC. S.niles (Norwegian Bride), and for the. most original gentleman's dress, Mr .T. S. Edßecmnbe (Auld Kobin Gray). Mi:is Sage's costume wis also greatly adKiired, and Miss McPhersnn's Rraccful skating receive 1 a hirjro share of praise. A game of Blind Ainu's IJutF was next engaged in, and it is needless to say that although it caused many falls to those playin?, the onlookers were convulsed with laughter at the antics cut. Rinking was again R<mo on with until 10 o'ch ck, when the hall was clearing for dancing, and an enjoyable evenins was. spent. Mr I'annell is to bo congratulated on the success of his carnival, and we hnpn his next .season may turn out equally well. The Hamilton Brass Band attended in uniform and played many line selections d'iriiig the evening, and also kindly provided music for the danca after thb carnival.
