+ The Waikato Times Office, Friday. Mussits A. Buckland & Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket during the past week, sales of fodder have been less than usual. Prices were without alteration. In grain increased business has been transacted ; oats, at 2s 8d and 2s !lil ; maize, 2s !)d to 'M tlie bushel; potatoes, £3 to ill the ton. Manures have also been in increased demand at cut rent values. On Friday, 14th inst., horse stock sold freely at late improved values ; medium draft brought from £8 to £12 ; the thoroughbred Libeller, £72 ; Maoriland, E(50; and a halfbred colt by Nordenfelt. £40. At Reimiera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were at low values—from 40s for heifers to £5 for best cows; store cattle, scarcely so free of sale, although no quotable difference in values; fat firm, and advanced slightly in price, many pons brought 18s the lOOlbs, averages for good steers ranged from t'li 5s to ,t'7 Os. fcSheep, steady at last week's prices ; hoggets, mixed sexes, brought 10s 3d ; long-woolod wethers, 13s to 17s (id; half-breds, 11s to 14s (id each; fat lambs, plentiful and required, prices ranged from 7s (id to 13s each. Horses were in improved demand, as there were a few strange animals of rather a good stamp. There was rather a stir in the market, and prices had an upward tendency. We quote : Hacks, at from £5 to £11 10s; light harness, £0 10s to £12; medium draughts, £7 f>4 to £17. Wool, hides, and skins : Unusually large quantities were pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday. Competition was brisk at fully the previous week's values. We quote :Ox hides, 3d to 4 : |d ; cows, 2d to 3d ; calfskins, 4d to 4|d ; sheepskins, Is to 5s (id ; tallow, £12 to £12 15s per ton. Cattle ; Barely the usual number have come forward. The demand has been steady, and prices for fat beasts advanced in value. The Newmarket Yards were moderately filled on Tuesday. Dairy cattle were dull of sale, but there was good competition for fat beasts at an advance of from 5s to 15s per head. Some averages were : Cows, £3 14s i)d, £4 5s 4d, £5 5s ; steers, £5, £510s 3d, £(> 0s 3d, £7 7s 3d. Sheep : The Newmarket Yards were well supplied, and competition was keen throughout the sale. Wethers sold at from 12a 6d to 16s Gd ; lambs sold at from 9s 3d to 13s; pigs in adequate numbers and steady demand at from 2d to 3d per lb live weight.
