The Earl of Rosebery, Secretary of .State for Foreign Aliairs, has instructed Sir Henry Drummond Wolff, special Commissioner in ' Egypt, that the British army of occupation will shortly be reduced by .siv regiments, and has informed him that Her Majesty's Government propose to withdraw the British force to Assouan, as the furthest •southerley outpost, while Egyptian troops will protect the frontier as far as Wady Haifa.
