The Colonial Agent-General waited upon Colonel Stanley, Secretary for the colonies to-day, to bid him farewell on his resignation. In returning thanks to them Colonel Stanley stated that the affairs of New Guinea remained at a standstill until the difficulty in regard to providing funds for the adm'tnistiation of the country was< settled, l-ersoiuvlly he expressed himself in favour of the Government protected territery, bring undertaken by some bincle colony in connection with England.
