FROM NAPIER to CA MB RIDGE.
SIX gentlemen arrived in Cambridge on Thursday evening last from N.vpier, having come overland per coach fiom Napier. They came via Taupo. The now load through the biihh from Ohineu.utu to Ctmbridge was taken, and the fom-hoiie coach in which they made t!io journey was the first conveyance of the kind which has as yet come over thi-> route. The OhiuenmtuCambridge stago was made in a little o\ or ten hours. They repoit the road throughout the entire journey to be in capital condition for driving, excepting the buMi road, which as> yet it. somewhat rough. This is a very pleasing fact, and one upon which Waikato may well be congiatulated. The opening of the new load will enable tourists from Napier and the South to drive right through the countiy to Auckland, calling at Taupo, Wairakei, Rotoiua, and all the places of inteiest, en route. Doubtless a large traffic will now spring up through the inteiior in the direction indicated. It is for tDe authonties at this end to see that the new road is kept in proper lepaii and passable for wheeled traffic dining all seasons.
