Tamahere.
At the first meeting of householders held at the Tainaheie Hotel for the purpose of electing a committee for the new school district the following gentlemen were duly elected : — Me&srs Graham, Way, Thompson, Wheeler and Raynes. Subsequently the committee elected Mr S. S. Graham as chairman. The committee also discussed the school district boundaries, but nothing final was done in that direction At the next meeting of the committee, which is to take place in a month, the qucbtion of boundaries will be dealt with. While dwelling on school matters, I may mention that the contractor (Mr Jury) i& making great progress in the erection of the school building, and it pi onuses to be a commodious school-room, and, according to piescnt appearances), will no doubt, at no distant date, be found too small, at the rate at which settlement seems to be taking place about here. — (Correspondent.)
