The land sale has been postponed, awaiting the arrival of the steamer \\ ith Auckland buyers. Tlie member for Waikato'-j presence heie has been taken advantage of to urge upon the Minister for Telegraphs the necessity of keeping the office open every evening for Press work. K\tra assistance will be needed. In thib office the staff are much overworked. The contractor for the bridge has nearly completed pile chiving. Unless pioinpt step 1 * are taken, a few days will see traffic etopped on the river.
