Mr Bryce Visits Wahanui. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Alexandra, Last ' Night. The Hon. J. Bryce and Messrs Wilkinson and Butler went up to Kopna this morning t6 ipay 'a* visit to Wahanui. Understanding it was a public meeting, several people went up. Not so, however. Mr IJryce partook of refreshments at Hughes house with Wahanui, and had a private conference with him. He also interviewed Topn^i, who received an invitation to go to a meeting at Waugan'ii on the Ist of next month. Te Wharoa, the chief who released Mr Hursthouse and Mr Newhliam from Te Mahuki's was asked to go to town to give evidence but declined. Te Kooti's party hove returned tp Kopua, Mr Bryce leaves for town to-morrow.
