IMPROVING PROSPECTS AT TE AROHA.

In last issue wo referred to some very good specimens of gold-bearing quartz alleged to have been obtained from the Buck roof, on the Wai hi side of To Aroha, It ■will be remembered that the discoverer was a native named Johnny. Pending his getting protection, he naturally kept the losality of his " find" a secret, and in consequence nothing was known of it or its prospects except at second hand. On the pcoapectoi'd return from the Tkames, writes a correspondent, on Sunday, Johnny piloted a party to tho reef and showed them whore he had obtained his specimens. After an examination of the ground, which afforded much satiufaction, the party returned, but yesterday morning a large number went over to the vicinity of the reef for the purpose of pegging out. This new difcovery has already had the eftect of reviving interest in Te Aroha, a? an indication of which it may be stated that many of the township sections which were abandoned during the dull season have been pegged out afresh. The return of fine weather will enable the work of prospecting to be renewed with vigor, and there seems to be little doubt that othor discoveries equally good will be made during the summer.
